On Friday 29 September 2017 the inaugural SeCURE Symposium on Urban Resilience in South East Asia will take place.
The aim of the SeCURE Symposium is to bring together researchers, practitioners and policy makers to gain understanding of the key challenges and solutions of urban resilience by giving an overview of recent knowledge and tools development in the field of urban resilience in the South East Asian region.
The opening ceremony will be graced by our Guest of Honour, Her Excellency Mrs. Margriet Vonno, the Netherlands Ambassador to Singapore, followed by a keynote speech by Mr. Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs of the Netherlands. International speakers from the Netherlands and the region and local speakers from Singapore, will address topics like adaptive governance, dealing with uncertainty, vulnerability assessment, the use of numerical models in decision making and the role of flexibility in urban planning in relation to urban resilience. This exclusive by-invitation only event will be attended by an audience of high- to medium level policy-makers, researchers and private sector professionals. This audience is invited to join in on a multi-sectoral discussion during the panel session, with high level panel members from public, private and academic sectors.
